…On Practicing What you Preach
As we continue in our Countdown to Launch, I’ve encountered a few moments of enlightenment with regard to the old adage “Practice What You Preach!”
It is incredibly simple to dole out sound advice on topics which you are well versed. Yet I find it difficult to apply that same advice to myself. As I build the odxFusion.com website and Social Networking / Web 2.0 applications, I have noticed that I want to use those forums to tell you how awesome we are, what great service we provide and why you need it. It’s only natural. As someone that really believes in the concept of ODX, I want to tell you about it until you agree. Then, I want you to agree so wholeheartedly that you not only join me in the experience, but you tell your friends, family and co-workers with the same level of enthusiasm that I told you!
As many of you already know, the primary purpose of marketing in a Web 2.0 environment is to build relationships and cultivate a bond within those relationships. If you’re good at developing quality and relevant content and you provide your visitors with something valuable, you may even find yourself labeled as an expert in your niche. I know this and I advise this. There’s an incredible irony in having to rewrite the content I provide on my own sites after doing what comes naturally.
